From Araraquara, a city in the southern state of São Paulo, and growing up in a musical family, Liniker Barros was exposed from childhood to Brazilian music as samba rock, jazz, soul. At 16, she began writing songs and says she found “her soul in her words.”
Liniker e os Caramelows is a musical project that translates black music and soul into a Brazilian contemporary language combining soul with MPB (popular brazilian music). The band led by singer-song writer Liniker was formed in 2015 in São Paulo. In October from the same year, the band released band’s first work “Cru”, composed by three songs on youtube. In 2016, Liniker e os Caramelows released their first studio album “Remonta”, which was nominated by Rolling Stone Brasil on the list best albums of the year, and Liniker won the Prêmio Multishow in revelation category.
With a show full of energy and magnetic stage presence, looking deep in the eyes of the audience, this captivating performer (who crosses the lines of gender) makes you want to swing.
