HMB | Viana Bate Forte 2018

HMB (an acronym of  “Heber Marques Band”) is a soul and funk band formed in Portugal in 2007 by Héber Marques (voice), Joel Silva (drums), Daniel Lima (keyboards), Fred Martinho (guitar), and Joel Xavier (bass).

They were already friends and played together in other projects. Heber Marques finds this musical training the perfect balance to develop his taste for soul and R&B related with his Gospel origins. 60s and 70s big names as Stevie Wonder, Prince, Al Green and Bill Withers and the latest D’Angelo and Erykah Badu are some of the references that inspire the sound of the band.

Their debut album reached the top positions of the national top in 2012. Both singles, Dia D and Não me Deixes Partir, were no. 1 at Rádio Comercial’s top for more than 12 weeks. There are now 4 albums available for a total of around 50 songs. Their work has been recognized with several prizes : 2 Golden Globes and 3 MTV Awards nominations.
